Focused Systems is written in Markdown and built with Hugo. Each post is a folder with its text and images side by side, kept in Git.
The theme is Edition, my Hugo port of Ghost’s Edition theme, which this blog ran on before it moved off Ghost. It is MIT licensed, like the original. Headings and text are set in Mulish, with Lora for serif, both served from the site itself.
Every change goes through a pull request and a private preview before it reaches the site. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and a few Pages Functions handle the newsletter signup and typo reports.
Search runs in the browser with Pagefind, from an index built with the site. The newsletter goes out through Resend. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
